Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao to visit Bihar on August 31 | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will pay a visit to Bihar on August 31, to handover ex-gratia cheques to five Galwan valley martyrs from Bihar and also to discuss the current national politics with Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.
The meeting assumes significance as this will be KCR’s maiden visit to Bihar after he started uniting the parties and leaders against prime minister Narendra Modi.
Telangana chief minister’s office (CMO) on Monday said that the CM would be leaving for Bihar on Wednesday morning and hand over Rs 10 lakh exgratia announced to each of five Galwan martyrs’ families along with CM Nitish Kumar in Patna.
Along with them, the CMs would hand over Rs 5 lakh financial assistance to each of 12 workers from Bihar who died in a fire mishap at Bhoiguda in Secunderabad a few months ago. “Later both KCR and Nitish will discuss national politics over lunch,” CMO said.
Sources said KCR would discuss the need for united efforts to unseat BJP at the Centre. “He will discuss how the Centre is encroaching upon the powers of the states, using central investigating agencies against opposition parties’ leaders, dislodging the opposition governments, dictatorial attitude of PM Modi and growing religious intolerance in the country,” a senior TRS leader said.
Along with KCR, about half a dozen TRS leaders would also accompany him to Bihar in a special flight.
Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav met CM KCR in Hyderabad in January this year and discussed uniting anti-Modi forces. The CM also spoke to RJD chief and former CM Lalu Prasad Yadav over phone.
