AMARAVATI: Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) commissioner Keerthi Chekuri on Friday directed the town planning department to prepare an action plan to geo-tagging and QR-coding for all the hoardings in the city.
She told the officials all the hoardings should be geo-tagged by next week.
She expressed serious displeasure over poor tax collection from the advertising agencies setting up hoardings in the city.
The commissioner reviewed the progress of collection of media display device charges with the town planning department officials on Friday.
“It is unfortunate the tax collections are not up to the mark despite my instructions. We should remove the unauthorized hoardings immediately,” said commissioner.
She said that a special drive should be taken up to remove the hoardings installed by the agencies which do not pay the prescribed fees to the GMC.
