People of Telangana disappointed with the outcome of BJP’s national executive meeting: Congress | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: The Congress on Monday said the people of Telangana were disappointed as neither the BJP’s national executive meeting nor Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke a word about the promises made to Telangana state in the AP State Reorganisation Act.
Reacting to the BJP’s NEC followed by PM’s public meeting and the ruling TRS trying to counter the onslaught by the saffron party, the Congress leaders threw a challenge at TRS and BJP to come for a debate on the numerous promises made in their respective election manifestos and why many of them were not implemented.
Congress senior leaders including Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy, former minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, senior vice president Mallu Ravi, working president T Jayaprakash Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have given clarity about the date by which the black money would be brought back from the Swiss Banks and by when Rs 15 lakh would be deposited into the bank accounts of the poor.
The Modi-government has conveniently forgotten its promise of giving two crore jobs per year. “The PM completely skipped the mention of promises made to Telangana state in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act which included setting up of a railway coach factory at Warangal, a steel plant at Bayyaram, and a Tribal university,” said Uttam who resumed his Rythu Bharosa Yatra from Monday.
While the PM did not speak a word why the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) project was shelved, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao neither sent a delegation to meet Modi with demands in the interests of the state nor demanded withdrawal of the Agnipath scheme.
The Congress leaders alleged that the PM avoided taking the name of CM KCR so that he would not need to criticise him or order a CBI inquiry into the corruption by TRS leaders. They appealed to the people to realise that both the TRS and BJP have a tacit understanding and are trying to mislead the people by hiding the failures of the respective governments.
