Pahalgam Terror Attack LIVE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack that left 26 dead. The meeting comes only a day after the Prime Minister met Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh and two days after meeting with Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff.

PM Modi has vowed strict action against the terrorists and assured justice to the victims of the attack. He has also been holding several high-level meetings in the wake of the attack.

Pakistan has banned Indian-flagged ships from entering its ports with immediate effect after New Delhi imposed fresh punitive measures, including a ban on the import of goods and entry of Pakistani vessels into its ports, against Islamabad amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack.

India on Saturday imposed a ban on the import of goods coming from or transiting through Pakistan and also the entry of Pakistani ships into its ports, even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country is committed to taking “firm and decisive” action against terrorists and their backers.

Meanwhile, a political slugfest continued over the response to the attack as leaders from the opposition pushed the government to act and punish the terrorists involved and their country of origin, Pakistan. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured citizens that terrorists and those who threaten India’s sovereignty will get a befitting response.
