According to Jagtial superintendent of police A Bhaskar, the incident happened when the truck carrying a load of bamboo rammed into the RTC bus coming from the opposite direction during the early hours of Wednesday.
“The bus was heading from Jagtial to Warangal. Conductor of the bus died on the spot with severe injuries,” the SP said.
There were eight passengers in the bus at the time of the accident.
The bus driver and five passengers sustained injuries in the mishap.
According to police, the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and all of them are out of danger.
“We are yet to ascertain the reasons for the accident. But by looking at the damaged vehicles, it appears like both the drivers were travelling at high speed,” the SP said.
The body of the conductor was shifted to the Jagtial government hospital for postmortem.
A case was registered under sections 304-a (causing death due to rash or negligent act) and 337 (causing injuries due to rash or negligent act) of the IPC.
