VISAKHAPATNAM: Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Monday said that no one should make controversy about the system of the governor. “It is a constitutional post. If any party wishes to change the system, then it should go for amendments in Parliament. But should not disrespect the post of the governor”, he said.
Speaking to the media after visiting the Sarada Peetham in Visakhapatnam on Monday, the Haryana governor said that the responsibilities of governors are clearly mentioned in the constitution and they work accordingly. Any party in the ruling should aware of the system of the governor.
“Please don’t bring the governor into controversy. You may have your political compulsions, motives, and benefits. But should not bring the governor into controversy. Any party in the ruling should respect and honour the governor system,” Bandaru Dattatreya said.
Without taking the name of the state, Dattatreya said that controversies are being created. He added that the governor’s post is there to maintain checks and balances of the Acts and orders made by the state government. Checks and Balances are a must in the procedures of democracy.
“Small issues are showing as bigger ones. Controversies are created. Show me which is the major issue between a governor and the state government. When the supreme court gives directions, the governor should follow them, isn’t it? Where is the controversy in it?”, he asked.
Governor is concerned about education, universities, and scheduled areas where he can interfere and give orders. “I am concentrating on development works including education. The new Education Policy 2020 is a game changer for the country. Any state or country can develop if it has human resources are high and potential. Three aspects of the education policy are important. Education with scientific temper, education with skills, and education with moral values,” he said.
Bandaru Dattatreya said that education in the mother language is a great thing. He said he had seen many countries at the ILO conference in Geneva. Except for America, England, and India, every country of 160 countries gave a speech in their own language. Teaching in the mother tongue is the revolutionary change brought by Prime Minister Narender Modi’s government.
“By 2030, teaching in the mother tongue in all universities is a target and there are many challenges too. Technology, innovation, and research are the main issues in the new education policy. Because of it, it would take time to implement and would get good results”, the Haryana CM said.
“Unemployment is a big issue in the country and If we wish to overcome it, then we need skills and vocation. Artificial intelligence, robotics, the black chain, and other technologies have come. If we can provide more training in those technologies, then our children would get more opportunities. Three crore jobs are going to be available globally. If we can provide better training in those technologies, our children would get 50% of jobs as our children have that skill and potentiality,” he said.
Every student of intermediate education should take any one of the vocations and get skills. then he or she can get opportunities and they can provide jobs to others also, the governor said.
“We need to make entrepreneurs. Both Telegu states should focus on new education policy, if necessary, I will speak to both CMs. Both states should not have a political compulsion. Set aside the differences and maintain cordial relations. They should have a positive attitude and cooperation among the higher officials and also politicians in bifurcation issues and others”, he said.
Haryana is developing at a fast pace. It is the second state in the county in milk production and first in producing Basmati rice, Dattatreya said. The state has 23 private universities, one of the top states in sports. Out of seven Olympic medals, four medals were won by Haryana sportsmen, he elaborated.
Haryana governor said that there is no controversy about the Hindi Language. Hindi is a national language. Everyone should accept it whether they like it or not. No one should make controversy on religion, region, and language. They are sensitive issues. Priority should be on development not on other issues, Bandaru Dattatreya advised.
