VISAKHAPATNAM: A 34-year-old-man, who went missing two weeks ago, was reportedly murdered by his wife and her paramour near Bheemili in Vizag city and the body was buried at an isolated place near Peda Waltair in the city.
The victim was identified as V Pydi Raju, a native of Valandhapeta under Bheemili police station limits in the city.
Pydi Raju along with his brother used to supply floor tiles, interior décor items and skilled workers to masons at various places in the city. Pydi Raju had married Vanka Jyothi around six years ago and had two children.
His wife Jyothi had lodged a complaint with the police citing that her husband Pydi Raju went missing from the home on December 29.
However, the victim’s family member grew suspicious and informed the police. Thereafter, the police tracked Jyothi and found that she used to make multiple phone calls to one K Srinivasa Rao.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that Jyothi had affair with Srinivasa Rao. Pydi Raju found out about their affair and had warned Jyothi and Rao to stay away from each other but the duo planned to eliminate Pydi Raju.
As per the plan, Jyothi and Rao strangled Pydi Raju to death after giving him food laced with sedatives.
The duo shifted the body from Bheemili to an isolated place near Peda Waltair and burnt to hide the evidence.
On Thursday, the family members, relatives, and neighbors of Pydi Raju protested at Bheemili demanding stringent action against the woman and Rao.
The missing case of Pydi Raju turned out to be a murder. Our investigation has recalled that Pydi Raju’s wife and her paramour were the key accused in the case. We have been on the job to arrest the accused persons and unearth more facts in the case, said ACP Ch Srinivas Rao.
