Kcr Only Nationally Recognised Face In Ruling Trs, Says Owaisi | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday said chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was the only (nationally recognised) face in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He insisted that there were no other faces other than KCR when asked about other leaders in TRS.
Responding to state BJP leaders saying that the saffron party would repeat “Yogi Adityanath’s bulldozer” performance in Telangana, Owaisi reacted sharply saying it would be wrong to underestimate KCR. “KCR is a stubborn leader. The good thing about him is that he has become active. We hope he will continue to be active until the next assembly elections in the state. He should also meet people and his party MLAs. It will be good because he is the only face in TRS,” Owaisi added.
The Hyderabad MP said BJP could not do much even in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections although all its top leaders campaigned in the city. “AIMIM retained all its seats. BJP only filled the vacuum created by the Congress,” he said.
On KCR trying to stitch up an anti-BJP federal front at the national level, the AIMIM president said it was too early to comment on the issue. “I will speak to him when he gives me time from his busy schedule. KCR seems to be busy. I haven’t met him for a long time. But what we have been saying about BJP has come true,” he said.
When asked if AIMIM will support a candidate put up by anti-BJP parties as its Presidential candidate, he said he will comment on the issue later.
On Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party emerging as a major player among anti-BJP parties at the national level after its victory in Punjab, Owaisi said one of the AAP MLAs had used offensive and unparliamentary language for KCR.
“I don’t want to repeat that language. It is too early to talk about the role of AAP but political parties trying to form a federal front should take a call about AAP,” Owaisi added.
