k chandrasekhar rao: Communal divide is like cancer, avoid it: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday said that increasing communal divide is like ‘cancer’ that needs to be avoided.
Falling for communal hatred, fuelled by political parties, might lead to permanent damage to the country and can adversely affect development and new investments, the chief minister said addressing a gathering post laying the foundation stone for three super speciality hospitals in Hyderabad – at Alwal, Erragadda and L B Nagar.

“As the chief minister of this state and a senior leader in the politics of the country, I have the responsibility to tell the people to refrain from such cancer. Under no circumstances should Telangana allow such narrow-mindedness to creep in. Politics based on religion, caste and hatred is cancer,” he said.
Citing incidents of discrimination based on religion KCR said how shops and businesses of a particular community are being targeted.
“If this were to happen to all Indians working abroad, what will the situation be,” he asked adding that 13 crore Indians work abroad, and if they were sent back due to discrimination it would lead to chaos. “If there is harmony, peace, a good law and order situation and if our police force works well; it will help attract new investments and industries,” KCR added.
Underlining Hyderabad’s success thus far, he said the city could not have prospered had it constantly been under curfew. “People should be free to decide what they want to eat, wear and speak,” the chief minister said.
