It Shakes You Completely, Your Thinking Changes

Varun Dhawan welcomed his daughter Lara with wife Natasha Dalal on June 3. While promoting his upcoming film Baby John in Delhi, the actor opened up about embracing fatherhood. Calling it a part crazy, part wonderful experience, Varun admitted that he is a changed man now after seeing Natasha give birth to their first child. “Being a father to a daughter is a unique experience. It shakes you completely, making you realise how much your thinking changes,” the actor said while interacting with the media.

He further shared how his experience of becoming a parent has made him appreciate his mother even more, “All the things your mother used to teach you during childhood start coming back to your mind. When Natasha gave birth to the baby, the first thought that I had was how could I ever be mean to my mother.”

He continued, “How can anyone be rude to their mother, especially after they nurture their child for nine months, after seeing what Natasha has done for the baby. It’s a crazy, wonderful experience. Having a daughter teaches you a lot about life and what actually being a man is.”

Varun’s upcoming film Baby John is the Hindi adaptation of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil film Theri, which featured Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The trailer of the film was launched recently in a grand event. Packed with high-octane action sequences, the trailer showcases Varun as a police officer, a father, and a romantic lead. Jackie Shroff plays the antagonist in the movie, and his look has caused quite a stir among internet users. The movie also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles.

The trailer also features a surprise cameo by Salman Khan, adding to the anticipation around the movie. On working with Salman, Varun shared, “Whenever we get a chance to work with such a superstar, it’s amazing. It’s a completely original character crafted for him. We have never seen any character like this before. I don’t want to divulge much about the role but no matter the amount of time he is on the screen for, the impact of his role will be longer.”

Produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande, directed by A. Kaleeswaran and presented by Atlee, Baby John is slated to release on December 25.
