Inspector booked for cheating in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: A criminal case was registered against Amberpet police inspector after an NRI lodged a complaint accusing the former of cheating him in a property transaction.
The issue pertains to a 135-square yard house at Chintalkunta, which Amberpet inspe-ctor P Sudhakar had bought in 2019. However, after lockdown, he had put up his house on sale and approached a real estate broker, Rajesh. “Rajesh offered to buy the house and later re-sell it. He transferred 45 lakh into my loan account. Later, NRI Vijayath Goud called me by claiming that it was his money, which Rajesh had sent,” Sudhakar said.
Vanasthalipuram police said that the NRI alleged that it was Sudhakar, who introduced Rajesh to the complainant, and they both cheated him by taking money. However, Amberpet inspector denied knowing Goud, until he started calling him over phone to put pressure to return money. “Rajesh paid me online. If Rajesh had taken money, they both have to settle the issue between themselves,” the inspector said. tnn
