“I Liked The Script Very Much. But It Didn’t Work Out For Me”

Bollywood actress Kajol recently revealed in an interview that she will be seen in a digital series very soon. “I’m coming on OTT,” Kajol was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying. The actress, in fact, revealed she would’ve entered OTT years ago if she accepted the titular role of filmmaker Ram Madhvani’s International Emmy nominated series, Aarya, which is now played by Sushmita Sen. Confirming the news, Kajol told Hindustan Times, “I was (approached).” Nominated for Best Drama Series this year, Aarya is a remake of the Dutch show Penoza. It has completed two seasons and streams on Disney+ Hotstar.
Kajol said that she liked the script but the project did not work out for her. “I did (watch it) and I liked the script very much. But it didn’t work out for me personally at that time,” she said. Without getting into the details, the actress simply added, “There were other reasons for it.”
Earlier this year, Kajol was announced as one of the Academy invitees, along with Suriya and director Reema Kagti, to be a prestigious member of the Oscars committee. Talking about it, she said, “I’m very grateful for that. I’m very happy and excited to hear that.”
Kajol has completed thirty years in the film industry. She began her career in 1992 with Bekhudi, when she was only 17 years old. Her the 1997 film, Gupt: The Hidden Truth, recently clocked 25 years. She celebrated the milestone with her co-star Bobby Deol at an event.
Meanwhile, Kajol has collaborated with South star Revathy for her upcoming project.
