The licence will be revoked for violating section 31 of the Excise Act. The action comes in the way of the drug bust in the early hours of Sunday involving hundreds of party goers.
The minister said raids and searches will continue in the city in bars and pubs and that the government will not tolerate any pub or bar violating the rules. The minister instructed the officials to be stringent and said licences of pubs and bars would be suspended if they violate the rules.
According to the minister, searches were conducted at Pudding & Mink pub as part of the government’s efforts to eliminate drug consumption among the youth.
He said a special task force is keeping an eye on erring pubs and bars. The minister warned officials against laxity. “We will not spare any one even if they have political connections or come from high-profile families,” he said.
In response to BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay’s claims that some persons at the rave party were let off, he asked: “The BJP should tell us where the drugs are available. We will certainly take action.”
