Highest VIP footfalls in Hyderabad history on Saturday | Hyderabad News
Saturday could possibly be the day of the highest VIP footfall in the city’s recent history. With the Prime Minister, central ministers, and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states in the city to attend BJP’s national executive meeting, cops of Hyderabad and Cyberabad remained on high alert. The bike rally by TRS in support of opposition parties’ presidential candidate, Yashwant Sinha and his subsequent meeting with TRS leaders including the chief minister at Jal Vihar has only increased the workload of police.
More than 1,000 cops were deployed in and around the Begumpet airport where multiple VIPs have landed.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh arrived first. Subsequently, Yashwant Sinha landed at the airport and he was received by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao along with some state ministers.
Sinha along with the CM and the state ministers went to the Jal Vihar meeting venue and heavy police bandobast arrangements were made throughout the route.
Members of both the BJP and the TRS gathered near the airport in support of their party leaders. Fortunately, no incidents of clash between the political workers have been reported. Cops heaved a sigh of relief after PM Modi landed at 2.55 pm at the Begumpet airport and then took a chopper ride to HICC. However, the relief was brief as they had been roped into the security arrangements being made for the public meeting of the PM at the Parade Grounds on Sunday evening.
At the Parade grounds, anti-sabotage exercise is being done by the police. A control room linked to CCTV camera feed has been set up to monitor the proceedings live. More than 3,000 police personnel will be on bandobast duty at Parade ground for Sunday’s public meeting.
