Five killed in two road accidents in Andhra Pradesh | Visakhapatnam News
VISAKHAPATNAM: Five people — including three youngsters — were killed in two separate road accidents that took place during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday in Vizag city and Anakapalle district in Andhra Pradesh.
In the first incident of a triple driving accident, three youngsters died on the spot after their Pulsar bike was suspected to be hit by a heavy vehicle on NH-16 stretch near Venkojipalem under MVP Colony police station in Vizag city in the wee hours on Friday.
The deceased were identified as P Sai, I Durga Prasad and R Gopi. The trio were below the 25 year age-group.
The police said that Sai and Gopi were residents of Yendada locality in Vizag city and Durga Prasad was a native of Srikakulam.
Though the police are yet to establish how the fatal accident took place, they didn’t rule out the suspected over speeding of the bike.
The incident took place when the trio on a bike was heading towards Maddilapalem from Yendada.
The police said that they didn’t find any major damages to the bike and they suspect that the bike’s handle came in contact with a heavy vehicle, which could lead to the bike skidding due to the over-speeding.
The police are examining the CCTV footage at some locations to establish the exact cause for the fatal accident.
There was a caption written on the “bike Enjoy Every Moment Because Death is Unexpected”.
The bodies were shifted for the post-mortem
In another incident, two persons, a lorry driver and the assistant driver, were killed after their cotton-laden vehicle hit a cement laden lorry near Askpalli Junction under Sabbavaram police station limits in Anakapalle district.
The accident led to a traffic jam at the spot.
The police said that the deceased hailed from West Bengal.
A case has been registered and the bodies were shifted for post-mortem.
