congress: Congress To Have New Election Team | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: A new election team, led by All India Congress Committee in charge of Telangana, Manickam Tagore, and Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy, is likely to be put in place by June-end.

Revanth would be completing one year as TPCC president on June 26 and wants the new election team in place at least six months ahead of the assembly elections, which are expected to be held early than its scheduled date.

Both Manickam Tagore and Revanth, in consultation with senior leaders, would start the work to take up an overhaul of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee team that would play a crucial role in the ensuing elections.

Since his appointment as TPCC chief in June last year, Revanth has not taken up a full-fledged exercise to bring in a new team and has been continuing by and large with leaders appointed when N Uttam Kumar Reddy led the party in the state.

“There is going to be a new team in place with 50% posts going to OBCs, SCs and STs in the organisation. This will be done as per the resolution adopted at the party’s Chintan Shivir in Rajasthan,” a senior leader said.

Priority might be given to leaders who are activeand enjoy influence among voters, their respective constituencies and districts while picking up the election team.

The changes are expected in the posts of party general secretaries, secretaries, working committee members, district presidents, frontal organisations, including Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal and National Students Union of India.
