Congress cadres won’t get intimidated by ED summons: Uttam Kumar Reddy | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday charged the BJP government of using the Enforcement Directorate to not only defame the Gandhi family but also to demoralise the Congress cadres and divert the attention of people from rising prices, GST on essential commodities and China’s intrusion into India.
“The allegations of money laundering in the National Herald case by the Enforcement Directorate are far false. There is no basis for the ED or any other central agency to question Congress president Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi. Since the National Herald case is a simple debt-to-equity conversion with absolutely no transaction of money involved in the deal, the question of money laundering does not arise at all,” he said.

Uttam appealed to the party cadres and leaders to participate in large numbers in the nation-wide protest on July 21 and July 22. Congress president Sonia Gandhi is expected to visit the Enforcement Directorate’s office on July 21 in response to the summons sent by the ED in the National Herald case.
“Congress leaders and the party cadres will protest peacefully on July 21 and 22 to express solidarity with our leader and also to convey a message that we will not bow down to the intimidating tactics of the Modi-led BJP Government,” he added.
The people of Telangana support Sonia Gandhi as she fulfilled the 60-year-old dream of Telangana state into a reality. “Despite knowing well that the party will lose power in Andhra Pradesh, she promised statehood to Telangana only to fulfil the aspirations of the people. It was the political will of Sonia Gandhi which led to the creation of Telangana state,” Uttam said.
