Children Create Cloud Kitchen For A Splash In The Pool | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: The urge for a swim in the summer heat has driven a bunch of kids from the city to turn entrepreneurs. With the elders reluctant to give in to their demand for a pool within the community — Lakeridge Homes, Bowrampet — the 7 to 12-year-olds have taken matters into their own hands and floated a cloud kitchen.
To raise funds for a swimming pool and new equipment in the society park, not only have they designed a professional website and composed a song to attract customers, but they have also taken up the task of being chefs and delivery agents for their kitchen. “Everyone is loving our sandwiches. We made 2,500,” said a beaming 11-year-old Aditi Mannnava, who is chef-cum-manager. Aditi said they have been wanting a swimming pool for a while now and have been trying to raise funds.
“About three years back, we tried to raise money by setting up a lemonade stand but did not get much response. This time, we started a kitchen and have been getting orders every day,” she said, adding that they estimate that they would need 3-4 lakh to build a swimming pool. The children said that if they manage to collect more than what’s needed for the pool, they also want to buy new equipment, and donate money for the needy.
M Ramana Kiran, treasurer, Lakeridge Homes, said that the association has not built the pool yet due to other priorities like constructing a community hall.
