BJP MLA booked for allegedly disclosing details related to Hyderabad gang rape victim | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: In reaction to BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao’s action to disclose the photograph of a couple to claim that a MLA’s son allegedly abused a minor girl a few days ago, Hyderabad police on Tuesday declared that a case was registered against the MLA for disclosing the details related to the victim.
Assistant commissioner of police (Abids) Venkat Reddy said that a case was registered against MLA Raghunandan based on the complaint given by an Advocate Komireddy, who alleged that MLA during a recent press meet disclosed, the photograph related to a victim of sexual abuse.
Few days ago, in reaction to deputy commissioner of police (West Zone) Joel Davis declaring that a MLA’s son had no role in gang rape of a 17-year-old girl, the MLA disclosed the photograph of the boy allegedly commiting the offence. The MLA, in his defence, said that her face is not seen in the photo which was released by him.
However, police clarified that the photograph pertains to an incident which took place in a different car, prior to the 5 accused involved in gang rape of the victim.
MLA’s son is not among the 5 accused.
BJP alleged that the MLA’s son is also involved in the offence and action should be taken against him.
After taking legal opinion, Hyderabad registered action based on the complaint given by Komireddy.
