Andhra Pradesh was more damaged by Jagan Mohan Reddy than bifurcation, says Chandrababu Naidu | Amaravati News
AMARAVATI: Telugu Desam Party chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that Andhra Pradesh was more damaged by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy than the unscientific bifurcation of the state.
He wanted to know with what authority Jagan would declare Visakhapatnam as the state capital city without getting clearance from the Supreme Court.
Speaking to the media at the party office on Thursday, Naidu said that Centre had filed an affidavit in Supreme Court giving complete details of the selection of the new capital city for the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh carved after bifurcation of the state.
He said that Centre had clearly stated that the TDP government had notified Amaravati as the capital city of the state by duly following the AP Reorganisation Act while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government did not consult the Centre on setting up three capital cities. He said that it clearly shows that Jagan Mohan Reddy had wantonly violated the laws only to ruin Amaravati.
“YS Jagan had deceived people by changing his stance several times. He backed Amaravati capital city on the floor of Assembly. He made people believe with the construction of house in Tadepalli. Surprisingly, Jagan took a U-turn soon after coming into power,” fumed Naidu.
He said that high court clearly stated that state government had no authority to change the capital city as Amaravati was picked up as per the APRA-2014 enacted by the Centre. He said that any decision with regard to the capital city should be taken by the parliament not by the state legislature.
He said that Jagan was also aware of the facts but acted with vengeance to ruin Amaravati. He said that Jagan government itself filed an affidavit in Supreme Court stating that High Court would remain in Amaravati. “What happened to the promise of Judicial capital city. Why are you deceiving people with such false promises?” Naidu asked.
He said that the Vizag had become a capital city for the smugglers and land grabbers after Jagan’s announcement. He said that the state government took several U-turns on the capital city issue as it failed to develop the state. He said that Polavaram project was also stalled only due to the arrogant policies of Jagan. He said that state could prosper as a wealthy state only by asset creation. Naidu vowed that they would fight to protect the state from the anarchy rule of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
