Lenovo Launches New IdeaPad Laptops, Yoga AIO 7 Desktop PC

Lenovo has set the stage for CES 2021 with the launch of its new IdeaPad laptops, including the IdeaPad 5G that is designed to provide faster connectivity to people working from their homes. The Chinese company has also brought Yoga AIO 7 as its new all-in-one desktop PC with a rotating display, alongside IPS monitors, Lavie Pro Mobile laptop, and Lavie Mini pocket-sized concept convertible PC. In addition to the new laptop and desktop offerings, the company has unveiled the Lenovo Tab P11 tablet with a 2K display. Lenovo has also brought Amazon Alexa Show Mode for PC and Lenovo Smart Assist as two new features for its computers.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5G specifications, features

Lenovo IdeaPad 5G comes with a dedicated SIM card slot and an integrated Snapdragon X55 Modem-RF system to let users use a 5G or 4G network while on-the-go. The laptop comes with a 14-inch full-HD (1,920×1,080 pixels) IPS display that delivers 300 nits of peak brightness and 100 percent sRGB colour gamut coverage. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G SoC, paired with Adreno 680 GPU and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The laptop also comes with 512GB of PCIe SSD storage.

Lenovo has provided an infrared (IR) camera that brings facial recognition for easy unlocking. The laptop also comes with user-facing speakers that are optimised with Dolby Audio Plus technology.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5G packs a 51Wh battery that is paired with Rapid Charge Express for fast charging via USB Type-C. The inbuilt battery is touted to deliver up to 20 hours of continuous video playback on a single charge. The laptop weighs 1.2 kilograms and comes in a 14.9mm thin chassis.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5G price is yet to be announced, though the laptop is set to debut in select markets in the coming future. The laptop will be available in a Light Silver colour option.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5i Pro comes in 14- and 16-inch display sizes and features all-metal chassis. The laptop comes with 16:10 aspect ratio and 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. It also offers 100 percent sRGB colour gamut coverage. Under the hood, you’ll get up to an 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, with up to Nvidia MX450 graphics and up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM. The laptop also includes 1TB of SSD PCIe M.2 storage.

Lenovo has provided an IR sensor with Windows Hello support for facial recognition on the IdeaPad 5i Pro. The camera also includes time-of-flight (ToF) sensors that work along with attention-sensing software from Glance to pause a video when the user walks away. It also enables the system to call users with an alarm when it recognises a movement in the absence of the user. Further, the laptop includes Dolby Atmos sound and comes preloaded with an Intelligent Cooling Mode to optimise battery life.

In terms of differences, the 14-inch display option comes with a 2.8K IPS screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of peak brightness, while its 16-inch version offers a 2.5K IPS screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 350 nits of brightness. The 14-inch model packs a 56.6Wh battery and supports Rapid Charge Boost fast charging. In contrast, the 16-inch option includes a 75Wh battery with Rapid Charge Express and single-cable Thunderbolt 4 support.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5i Pro will come with a starting price of EUR 699 (roughly Rs. 63,000) for the 14-inch model and EUR 899 (roughly Rs. 81,000) for the 16-inch option. Both will be available from March.

Just like the IdeaPad 5i Pro, Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro also comes in 14- and 16-inch variants. The machine, however, comes with next-generation AMD Ryzen mobile processor, along with Nvidia MX450 graphics and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. It also comes with up to 1TB of SSD PCIe M.2 storage.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro will be available in 14-inch model in Africa (EMEA), Europe, and the Middle East from March with an initial price of EUR 799 (roughly Rs. 72,000), while its 16-inch option will go on sale in the US in May starting at $1,149.99 (roughly Rs. 84,400).

Apart from the new IdeaPad models, Lenovo has brought the Lavie Pro Mobile as its new laptop. This comes with a 13.3-inch display and is powered by up to 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, with Intel Iris Xe graphics. The laptop also comes with a 180-degree hinge design and 19mm of typing pitch. It comes in a magnesium-lithium array chassis with a carbon fibre cover. The machine weighs 889 grams and has a thickness of 16.7mm.

Lenovo Lavie Pro Mobile will be available in Navy Blue colour with a starting price of $1,699.99 (roughly Rs. 1,24,700). Details about its availability are yet to be announced.

Lenovo Lavie Mini specifications, features

Alongside the Lavie Pro Mobile, Lenovo has unveiled the Lavie Mini as its new portable PC prototype. It comes with an 8-inch WUXGA (1,920×1,200 pixels) touch display and is powered by up to 11th-generation Intel Core i7 mobile processor, along with Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB LPDDR4 RAM, and 512GB SSD storage. It also includes an IR camera with Windows Hello, keyboard with circular-shaped numeric and symbol keys, and support for a gaming controller.

The Lavie Mini can also be attached with an optional HDMI-connected Dock to play content on a big screen. The Dock also includes a full-functional USB Type-C and USB-A ports. It also comes with charging support.

Being a prototype, the Lavie Mini hasn’t received any price tag and is not likely to be available for purchase.

Lenovo Tab P11 price, specifications, features

Lenovo Tab P11 comes with an 11-inch 2K (2,000×1,200 pixels) IPS display with a peak brightness of 400 nits. The tablet is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, with up to 6GB RAM. It is touted to deliver up to 15 hours of battery life on a single charge. The tablet comes preloaded with Kids Space from Google and a Smart Privacy feature that blurs the background during video calls. There is also Dolby Atmos sound technology.

Lenovo has designed an optional Keyboard Pack for the Tab P11 that comes with an inbuilt trackpad. The tablet is also compatible with Lenovo Precision Pen 2 that comes with a USB Type-C plug for charging and can last for up to 200 hours on a single charge. The Tab P11 can also be connected to the Lenovo Smart Charging Station 2 for hands-free movie watching. Moreover, a Folio Case is also available to provide protection for the tablet.

Lenovo Tab P11 is available for purchase in the US starting at $229.99 (roughly Rs. 17,000).

For a premium computing experience on a workstation desktop, Lenovo has brought the Yoga AIO 7. The PC comes with a 27-inch 4K IPS display that supports 99 percent DCI-P3 and 99 percent Adobe RGB colour standards. The display comes with a rotatable hinge design that can swivel from a horizontal to full vertical position. It can also be tilted to up to 20 degrees. There is also a wireless casting feature to enable the display remotely from a tablet or smartphone without turning on the desktop.

Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 comes with front-facing JBL Harman-certified stereo speakers. The desktop also comes with a wireless keyboard, mouse, and a detachable 5-megapixel Web camera. It is powered by up to AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor, along with Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.

Lenovo has provided inbuilt microphones on the AIO desktop PC to activate Alexa. There is also a blend of Cloud Grey and Moon White shades to deliver a premium look and feel.

Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 will be available for purchase in select markets with a starting price of $1,599 (roughly Rs. 1,17,300). It is already on sale in China.

Lenovo L27e-30, L24i-30 monitors price, specifications, features

In addition to the Yoga AIO 7, Lenovo has brought the L27e-30 and L24i-30 monitors. Both come with IPS panels and hidden cable management. The monitors also have 7.1mm-thin head and near-edgeless bezels on the other three sides. While Lenovo L27e-30 comes with a 27-inch display, Lenovo L24i-30 features a 23.8-inch full-HD (1,920×1,080 pixels) display. Both monitors come with support for AMD FreeSync technology and have refresh rates of up to 75Hz via HDMI.

Lenovo L27e-30 comes with a price tag of $189.99 (roughly Rs. 14,000), while Lenovo L24i-30 is priced at $159.99 (roughly Rs. 11,700). Both will be available from March.

Lenovo’s new software announcements

Apart from the new hardware, Lenovo has announced an updated Lenovo Vantage app that brings access to Lenovo Smart Assist feature with improved hands-free login via Windows Hello, Super Resolution 2.0 for upscaling videos, and the Vantage Smart Performance Services as the company’s latest software-as-a-service (SaaS) for self-diagnosing system issues.

Lenovo has also brought Show Mode for PC to bring an Echo Show-like smart display experience to its laptops. The feature will be available to a wide range of Lenovo machines, including select Yoga and IdeaPad laptops, starting from the second quarter of 2021.
