TDP likely to sack JD Rajasekhar from party fold on disciplinary grounds in Satyavedu assembly segment | Amaravati News
TIRUPATI: Telugu Desam party is likely to sack JD Rajasekhar who unsuccessfully contested against YSRCP’s Koneti Adimulam from the Satyavedu assembly segment in Chittoor district in the 2019 general elections on disciplinary grounds.
According to reliable sources, there has been discontent in the TDP’s rank and file for frequently changing the MLA candidates in every general election in the Satyavedu assembly segment in Chittoor district.
From the Satyavedu assembly seat, while H Hemalatha successfully won as a TDP MLA in the 2009 general elections, the party brought in a new candidate Talari Adithya in the 2014 general elections and he too won comfortably in the then general elections held in the aftermath of the bifurcation of the united state of Andhra Pradesh.
And in the 2019 general elections, the Telugu Desam party once again jumbled its candidate and fielded JD Rajasekhar, who lost to the YSRC candidate Koneti Adimulam.
Now as the TDP is gearing up for the 2024 general elections, the principal opposition party has once again roped in former Satyavedu MLA H Hemalatha and appointed her as the constituency in-charge.
According to TDP sources, Dr H Helen, daughter of former Satyavedu TDP MLA H Hemalatha is set to be fielded by the TDP from the Satyavedu assembly segment in the 2024 general elections.
Amidst all these developments, the TDP’s candidate JD Rajasekhar from the 2019 general elections reportedly vented his ire and entered into a heated altercation with fellow party leaders in the middle of TDP national secretary Nara Lokesh‘s Yuvagalam padayatra a couple of days ago at the Satyavedu assembly segment.
He reportedly expressed his displeasure for being sidelined and dumped by the party ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The party leadership which has taken a serious note of the incident, is learnt to have decided to suspend JD Rajasekhar from the party fold on disciplinary grounds.
According to party sources, the suspension orders may come in a day or two.
