32-year-old priest sexually exploits woman in Hyderabad, held | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: A 32-year-old temple priest has been arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman at Jagadgirigutta. He has been sent in judicial remand.
Jagadgirigutta police said victim had lodged a complaint with Rajahmundry police last year and the case was transferred to the city. The accused is a priest of a temple at Asbestos Colony in Jagadgirigutta.
According to Jagadgirigutta inspector P Saidulu, the complaint alleged that she was lured by the accused during her visits to the temple. “The complainant alleged that on the pretext of performing puja, the accused had lured her and became intimate with her,” the inspector added.
The victim also alleged that offender extorted money from her and he had even exploited a few other woman devotees too. “Based on the complaint of the victim, a case was registered at the Rajahmundry police station of AP in 2022 and it was transferred to us. Victim alleged that sister of accused had helped him. After investigation, we have arrested the priest on Friday,” police said.
