Migrant worker crushed by truck in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: A migrant worker died and his wife injured when a container truck hit them at Hyderguda near Attapur in the early hours of Monday. The truck driver has been arrested.
Rathan (35), a labourer, was a native of Kalaburgi in Karnataka. He stayed alone in Panduranga Nagar in Rajendranagar while his family lived in Kalaburgi. His wife Manjula (32) had come to visit him on Sunday and he was seeing her off at around 5.30 am on Monday when the accident happened while waiting for a bus near PVNR Expressway pillar no. 143.
“A container truck coming from Aramghar and going towards Mehdipatnam hit them while trying to overtake a bus from the left.
Rathan was crushed under the truck tyres while Manjula suffered multiple injuries. She is in hospital and her condition is stable,” Rajendranagar SI Swetha said, adding that the couple has three children.
After the accident, truck driver Purushotham Yadav abandoned the vehicle and fled. He was later arrested from Rajendranagar.
A case was registered under IPC section 304-a and 337 against the truck driver
