Nadella Comes Home: Bonds With Ktr Over Biz & Biryani | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella on Friday wrapped up his four-day official tour of India with a visit to hometown Hyderabad on Friday, where he not only held a closed door meeting with Telangana’s IT & industries minister KT Rama Rao but also addressed India employees at the Microsoft India Development Centre (MSIDC).
During his early morning meeting with KTR at the sprawling 54-acre MSIDC campus in Gachibowli, Nadella bonded over business and biryani, something that the Hyderabadi Microsoft top boss is passionate about. “Good start to the day when two Hyderabadis get to catch up @satyanadella. We chatted about Business & Biryani,” KTR tweeted.
TOI has learnt that the discussions included the expansion of Microsoft’s investment in the state, which houses the tech giant’s largest development centre outside headquarters Redmond, US, and where it is setting up its largest India data centre at an investment of over 15,000 crore over a period of 15 years.
Later in the day, Nadella addressed employees at the Hyderabad campus with around 20,000 employees joining through hybrid mode from across India in what Microsoft’s India president Anant Maheshwari termed as a “real homecoming”.
“It is show time! Lets play hard and bring our very best to empower every person and every organisation to achieve more,” Nadella is learnt to have told employees.
Maheshwari, who described the townhall as a masterclass with Satya on leadership, tweeted: “Thank you, Satya for that incredible energy, passion, empathy and for pointing towards the shining north star of what Microsoft stands for.”
