Student union seeks arrest of cyber bully in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Student union representatives protested at a private engineering college in Aushapur, demanding the arrest of the accused who has been sending obscene messages to the girl students and stalking them online.
Based on the complaint of D Hemanth Reddy, hostel warden of VBIT college in Aushapur, police registered a case against an unknown offender under sections. 354D, 509, 469 IPC and sections 67, 67A of the IT act on Wednesday.
The complainant alleged that the unknown offender had initially befriended a first-year student on November 9, 2022, and continued to chat with the student. Subsequently, she stopped talking to him as she did not like his behaviour.
Bearing grudge against the student, the accused started stalking her and her friends online through eight different phone numbers. The accused sent abusive and obscene messages to the victims by morphing their photos. On Thursday, demanding the arrest of the accused, student union representatives barged into the college campus and staged a protest in front of the administration block. tnn
