‘select Action’ Row Rages In Congress Disciplinary Panel | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Even before the dust on ‘seniors versus outsiders’ settles down, Telangana Congress’s disciplinary action committee (DAC) is now under fire for selective action against some leaders.
Senior leaders are unhappy with the committee and its chairman G Chinna Reddy. While DAC expelled party veteran Marri Shashidhar Reddy though it was not under its purview, some leaders questioned why no action was taken against Eravathri Anil for speaking against Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Anil lashed out against Uttam terming him as ‘musugu veerudu’ (masked hero) and even accused him of not submitting the accounts of election funds. He also alleged that Uttam was behind party treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy’s move to jump into BJP. Anil’s outbursts came following Uttam’s accusations against TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy and party’s election strategist Sunil Kanugolu.
Some DAC members are also not happy with the way the committee is functioning. A Shyam Mohan, senior member of the committee, said they were not consulted before taking action. BC leaders in the party are upset over a show-cause notice issued by Chinna Reddy to T Shankar Prasad, former president of Wanaparthy district Congress committee. “Prasad belongs to Mudiraj community and is a sincere worker. Chinna Reddy should have called for a meeting of all the members of DAC before serving him the notice,” said a senior BC leader.
However, Chinna Reddy told STOI that a show-cause notice was not issued to Anil so as not to precipitate the issue further.
