HYDERABAD: With the Godavari flowing above the third danger mark, 53feet (ft), several people were shifted to safer places in Bhadrachalam district on Wednesday. The water level touched 54.6ft at 9am, continued at that level for a few hours and dropped to 54.5ft when reports last came in at 5 pm.
Bhadradri Kothagudem district authorities shifted people from some villages along the Godavari to relief camps. People from Dandupeta, Veerapuram, Peddipalli, Kothapalli and Lingapuram were taken to the camps as a precautionary measure. People likely to be affected by the flood have been advised to take precautionary measures. Villagers of Sunnabatti, M Kashinagaram, Gongolu in Dummugudem, Dandupeta colony, Veerapuram, Peddipalli in Cherla mandal, Nellipaka banjara, Ramachandrapuram, Batti Mallayya Gumpu, Kummarigudem Kindhi Gumpu, Tekulagutta in Aswapuram mandal, and Chinnarayigudem, Kamalapuram, Annaram villages in Manugudu mandal have been alerted about the possible flood situation.
