Puppalaguda cave-in: Two Andhra Pradesh labourers buried alive | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Two labourers from sister state of Andhra Pradesh were buried alive under a heap of mud at an under-construction site in Puppalaguda on Saturday. A case was registered against the construction firm and the supervisor.
Narsingi police said Venkat Ramana and Prasad, both in their mid-30s, were buried when a thick layer of mud from a side wall collapsed on them. .
Other workers tried to rescue them by deploying an earthmover. Police along with the municipal authorities also reached the location, while the National Disaster Response Force was alerted. The bodies of both the labourers with severe head injuries were pulled out of the debris by NDRF team.
Initially, the officials were unsure about the number of workers who were trapped under the debris. After verifying with the supervisor, police came to a conclusion that five workers were at the spot when the mishap occurred.
“Just before the accident, three workers went away and only Ramana and Prasad were present. We are trying to reach out to their family members,” Narsingi inspector Shiva Kumar said.
