congress: Boycott Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s iftar party: Congress ex-minister Shabbir Ali | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Former minister Md Ali Shabbir on Sunday appealed to the people concerned to boycott the annual iftar party to be hosted by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao during the ongoing month of Ramzan.
He gave this boycott call in protest against the anti-minority policies of TRS government, failing to fulfill its promise of extending 12 percent reservation and giving minority bandhu on the lines of Dalit Bandhu scheme.
Shabbir Ali was addressing a media conference at his residence here after releasing a poster on the selection of 1,073 Muslim candidates for the MBBS course for the academic year 2021-22. Senior leaders including Hyderabad city Congress Committee minorities cell chairman Sameer Waliullah, TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin and Mateen Shareef were also present during the media conference.
The four percent reservations extended by previous Congress governments has resulted in a large number of Muslims getting MBBS and BDS admissions under four percent reservation for BC-E category of candidates (BC-E- poor Muslims students).
Sameer Waliullah said that a committee would be formed by the Congress party which would visit all educational institutions to meet the beneficiaries of the 4% reservation. “We will extend whatever assistance they need in terms of study material or other financial needs. They got admissions under the 4% Muslim quota and we will ensure that they complete their education without any hurdles,” he said.
Shabbir Ali accused CM KCR of neglecting the welfare of minorities. Citing examples, he said under previous Congress governments, the chief minister used to conduct review meetings for Ramzan arrangements.
