Telangana: Man arrested for dialing 100 six times to complaint against wife not cooking mutton curry | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Nalgonda police booked a labourer for repeatedly dialling 100 under the influence of alcohol to complain against his wife for refusing to prepare him mutton curry.
The accused is O Naveen, 28, a labourer from Cherla Gowraram village in Kanagal mandal of Nalgonda district. On Friday night Naveen went home in a drunken condition. Enroute he purchased some mutton and asked his wife to prepare mutton curry. “Naveen’s wife was upset with his alcohol addiction and refused to prepare mutton curry,” Kanagal SI Nagesh said.
Upset with his wife, Naveen dialled 100 complaining to the police that his wife was refusing to cook mutton curry and asked them to intervene in his favour. “The dial 100 staff initially thought it was a prank call and disconnected it. But Naveen continued to dial 100 with the same complaint and we were notified after six calls,” the SI said.
Police patrolling team immediately went to his house but they did not arrest him immediately as he was under inebriated condition. A case was booked against Naveen under sections 290 (punishment for nuisance) and 510 (misconduct in public by a drunken person) of the IPC and he was arrested on Saturday morning for wasting time of police by dialing the emergency number for an irrelevant issue, the SI said.
Naveen who confessed that he committed the mistake under the influence of alcohol. Police said that after the incident Naveen confined himself to the house as the villagers started making fun of him for calling cops to complain about an irrelevant matter.
