Daily dose

The total population eligible for vaccination in Telangana is about 2. 77 crore, while it is about 1. 5 crore for Delhi.
Till mid-January, 12 states and Union Territories had achieved 100% vaccination for first dose, while 26 states/UTs had over 90% coverage for the same.
According to experts, vaccination clearly made a difference during the third wave. “A detailed analysis on hospitalisation and vaccination should be done. Going by numbers, it appears areas with good vaccine numbers have shown less bed occupancy despite high caseload during the third wave,” said Dr Subodh Kandamuthan, director, Dr Kakarla Subba Rao Centre for Health Care Management, ASCI, adding that areas with high migratory population will have more first dose coverage
As far as two doses are concerned, Telangana has covered 86% of the eligible population. Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karna- taka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand are among states with over 70% coverage for both doses.
In one year since the launch of vaccination drive on January16, 2021, India has fully vaccinated nearly 70% of its adult population. Telangana also stands out for having only a small gap between rural and urban vaccine drives, including for the second dose.
Other states such as Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu and Punjab are still behind in terms of providing first dose in rural areas.
