Dow Jones share price: Dow Jones tanks 460 pts on growth worries, Chinese tech rout

Wall Street’s main indexes fell sharply at the open on Thursday as the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant cast doubts over an economic recovery, while a rout in Chinese tech stocks appeared to have spilled over across markets.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 464.60 points, or 1.34 per cent, to 34,217.19. The S&P 500 fell 66.86 points, or 1.53 per cent, to 4,291.27, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 287.32 points, or 1.96 per cent, to 14,377.75 in the opening session.
