43 booked for having illegal water connections in Telangana | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Criminal cases were booked in Vanasthalipuram police station in Hyderabad against 43 property owners, including a councillor of Adibatla municipality, for having illegal water connections.
The vigilance wing of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) led by chief vigilance officer, M Ravi Chandan Reddy and inspector, P Tirupathi, raided on apartments and individual houses in four different locations, at Turkayamjal in Ranga Reddy district, on Friday.
The first raid was conducted on the premises of Ilaiah, who was present councillor at Pragathi Nagar Township and identified illegal water connections.
Subsequently, the raid also conducted other properties, too. In two different apartments, located at Apple Colony, Injapur, the vigilance wing raided and booked criminal cases against a total of 39 flat owners and four people of individual houses.
During the verification of these premises, the vigilance wing found that these property owners have mischievously, damaged the pipeline laid by HMWS&SB and installed the illegal water connections at their own which is used for diversion of drawn water, and diverting the water from the last few years by illegally connecting the water connections, said a vigilance official.
Based on the complaint from the concerned Manager of HMWS&SB, Turkayamjal Section, criminal cases were registered against the people, under sections 430, and 269 of the Indian Penal Code, at Vanasthalipuram Police Station, said vigilance inspector.
