HYDERABAD: Excise officials in Jogulamba Gadwal have written to authorities to discontinue Rythu Bandhu financial assistance to two persons after finding ganja cultivation on their land.
Gadwal excise officials said they found ganja in survey numbers 16/3 and 16/4 in Devabanda village in Ieeja mandal and cases were booked against four people. A report has been submitted to the district agriculture officer to suspend Rythu Bandhu financial benefit to Amba Swamy and Siddiah, resident of Thaikunta, for cultivating ganja.
In another ganja-related case, authorities in Sangareddy invoked provisions of PD Act to send a drug peddler to jail on Tuesday. Shekhar Raju Divakar and his driver Stalin Raju were earlier arrested in Sangareddy while transporting 240 kg of dry ganja from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai in 2021.
